Large container terminals often overdimension their fixed OPS infrastructure, accounting for peak demand when every berth is occupied. Flux Lines allows terminals to size their fixed OPS installations for 70-80% of the peak demand, while our barges provide flexible backup capacity during busy periods. This significantly lowers the investment required for each terminal while guaranteeing shore power availability for every visiting ship.

Cruise terminals often have high-capacity electrical connections that sit idle overnight while cruise ships are at sea. Flux Lines uses this existing, underutilized capacity to charge its barges during night time when electricity is cheapest and most abundant. This energy can then be used to power ships at cargo terminals throughout the port, effectively using a single electrified cruise terminal as the hub to provide shore power across the entire port.
